Property Details
In August, 1988, the Salvation Army transferred ownership of Booth Towers to Marion Unity Apartments, Inc. (MUA). This 98-unit Section 202 high-rise for the elderly and persons with disabilities offers a large multi purpose room and four activity... rooms, which provide space for many socially stimulating activities for residents. Marion's Service Coordinator links residents with local organizations to provide personal care, homemaker services, and other vital resources so they can live independently. The project was constructed in 1983 at a cost of 4.4 million dollars.
MUA offers many amenities including a multi-purpose room with a big screen television, a billiard room, a small library/puzzle room, a sitting room and game/ceramics room. There is a coin operated laundry and in-house mailboxes, on site. For outdoor enjoyment, there is a spacious patio with picnic table and swings.
All residents are very proud of “their” well-kept complex. MUA has a strong Tenant's Association that works closely with management and supports many different events, including: in-house bingo games, auctions, birthday dinners, Friday lunches and bake sales, cookouts, and a two-day annual picnic with all day entertainment. Through their sales and generous donations, a bus was purchased, by the residents, for grocery/shopping trips and tours. MUA maintains an on-site Manager, Maintenance Person and Service Coordinator. All of them work together to provide dedicated, outstanding service to the residents.
