Management SUCKS

I saw a lot of contradicting reviews and decided to give the place a chance after visiting and meeting the two women from the leasing office. Within six months of me moving in, and I have had issue after issue. The main leasing office does not help, they are arrogant and beyond rude when talking to the tenants. I have put in maintenance reports that have gone ignored, the closet that has the AC has leaked and has had so much moisture that mildew is growing. They share personal information to... other tenants as if they were “gossiping”. The main manager is the most unprofessional person ever. I wish I never moved here.

Please Read Carefully

Welshwood Apartments is not a good place to live. The biggest issue currently is the water supply. For the last year and half there has been an ongoing issue with the hot water. On average, 2-3 days out of the week there is no hot water. And they property/office managers rarely notify tenants when this will happen. I suspect because they don’t even know themselves most of the time. As of late the hot water faucet has been producing brown, sludgy water. It’s almost reminiscent of the Flint water... crisis. Water is brown, and dirty and not suitable to shower in or consume. Today, I accidentally used some of the water and became very ill (think stomach flu kind of ill). I’m currently researching my legal options, and looking for a reputable real estate attorney in the area. Additionally, they allow residents to smoke in their apartments despite the clause in the lease that clearly states smoking in the apartments is prohibited. So if you move here, and aren’t a smoker, be prepared to have your clothes, furniture, and closets reek of cigarettes and/or marijuana. And when you tell the leasing office about this they do absolutely nothing. Again, this is a legal clause in their own lease that they will not enforce. The ladies in the office are cold, unprofessional, and uncaring. They waste paper printing messages about the most nonsensical, arbitrary things, but will not send communications out to residents when lease clauses are being violated…There are also issues with bugs including a recent bed bug infestation. There are other issues as well but it would take too long to cover them all. I say all of this to say, I understand the skyrocketing costs of rent may make this place seem appealing. Rising housing costs is the main reason I am stuck here unfortunately without much of an option to move out. But understand you will get what you pay for at Welshwood and it’s simply not worth the depression and frustration that will surely come once you’ve settled in. Please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere, there are plenty of other apartments in the area (some a bit more pricey) but are way better than Welshwood. I’m sharing this lengthy review because I wish when I was looking at apartments someone would have been transparent about what it’s really like living here. It would’ve saved me a lot of time, wasted money, and heartache. I’m utterly miserable living here but there’s not much I can do about it right now. Just wanted to share, and good luck on your search!

Just awful and always a problem daily

Don’t move here. Paper thin walls, cockroaches, mice, and now bed bugs all over the place. The laundry machines never wash or dry clothes properly. Maintenance is a joke. There is never any hot water and the tap water here reeks of sewage, which the property manager will tell you is “safe to drink”. The officer manager is incredibly rude and nasty. Currently on day 2 of no hot water and when I called for an update, you know, because I pay rent for stuff like this, I’m met with the nastiest,... unaccommodating tone and told to just “go boil some water”. This place is absolutely horrible and if it weren’t for the pandemic I would have moved out last year. My biggest regret is deciding to stay here instead of just leaving. Please don’t waste your time or money with this dump
